Maybe it's worth posting some photos and a description of the item here. At least we can all see it and it will remain as a post if anyone wants to look at it in the future.
Oh yeah! Might as well.
Here it is:

The reverse is blank. The front is all written in French, before English was Jersey's official language.
It says:
No. 282 Island of Jersey. [Ticket, No. 282] PUBLIC LOTTERY.
The Holder is entitled to the benefit or prize which will accrue to Ticket
No. Two hundred and eighty-two in
the Lottery established by act of the States, of December 14, 1793.
Not 100% what the signature is, but I think Tho. is short for Thomas. The surname miiiight be DelaGares, probably not right. Just an uneducated guess.
One thing I thing is also worth mentioning is this. As I was walking along South Pier in St. Helier, I came across this information plaque talking about the site.

I might need to go to the Archive as ask for more information about this fact, but it states that lottery tickets were issued to partially fund the development of South Pier and the Old Harbour in the 18th century. This ticket is from quite a few decades after this fact though, so it might not be relevant. But I figured it was worth talking about!
Good idea to have it on here anyway. In case any curious souls decide to come here in the future.
